A Force Of Nature Too Great To Reckon With

As news of the devastating Slave lake fire began to quickly filter thru on Sunday, memories flooded back when most of my Sask. home town main street was destroyed by fire many years ago. The destruction was only a fraction of that which is occurring today at Slave lake, population of approx 7,000, where to date it is estimated 40%,(400+ homes plus some business) of the town has been destroyed and still burning; but I remember the chaos, fright, overwhelming uncertainty and sense of loss/pain and the aftermath of that day. One can not begin to describe or even understand how this forever changes your life. My prayers and thoughts are with the folks in Slave Lake.

More -:(

This is considered one of the worst disasters in modern Canadian history. The wildfires have destroyed so much more than just building properties in Slave Lake and the Municipal District of Lesser Slave Rive
