~ My Animal/Bird Spirit ~

Time Stands Still For No One

When I went back home several years ago, I found that the grand old farm house that I remembered with such vivid detail was no more. There stood a delapidated old building absent of most doors and windows, floors caved and beams broken and dangling precariously. A couple of years thereafter, I went back again, perhaps thinking someone may have made this old building whole again, but those shambled remnants of its very being were now all gone. Now the land where my beloved home once stood was a grain field. My heart broke - somehow a piece of my history ceased to exist and so to, I sensed a part of me died that day too.

My page depicts a broken and deserted home that once someone love too. I found this beautiful poem written by  VanMeer which is so fitting. Its almost as if he took the thoughts right from my heart.  Then I realize there are so many of us that have come to know the same experience as we grow older in life. Time stands still for no one now does it?!

Trains, Trains, Trains

Well this was a neat challenge on trains. A train of some sort had to be featured on your page and I tried two different ways to create and scrap a scene.

Then & Now

This was a fun challenge!! All the participants had to scrap a vintage page but add one new component. When I can across the old 1925 bathing beauties pic I knew this was my choice. Had a hoot doctoring up the oldie by inserting a more current bathing beauty, of course one in good taste. This what I came up with and even managed to score 2nd prize, you can see here.

Talk about some pretty frumpy bathing beauts back the, LOL!!

Hmmmmm Some Surprise

You best pay attention to what your little ones are doing on the internet or they could be making a deal you can't afford! Imagine dad's surprise when he noticed what his seven year almost bought on EBay.....

 "A seven-year-old boy in London almost became the owner of a decommissioned military plane. Well technically he did buy the jet, on Ebay, while unattended at the computer. The purchase price was $113,000 and the boy went straight for the "buy it" button. When the boy's father discovered his son's hefty purchase, he contacted the company selling the jet (Jet Art Aviation Limited) and they cancelled the sale right away."

Maybe not today but surely this will go down as one of funniest memories for this family some years down the road!

Well I extracted this one cute lil dude from a pic which I love and created 2 different pages. Think I like the first one best.......

Now If This Isn't Enough To P*** Off The ...... !

I still can't believe this actually happened to us!! Like how low can folks go?!

Went shopping today for the weekly grub. As is the usual with quarter in hand, you try to insert the darn thing and then  do battle with the carts to dislodge one. Well today was our lucky day - this nice attractively dressed 30s something lady had just unloaded her cart into her BMW and offers to give us her cart. As is the practice of many a shopper and a common courtesy,  hubby offers her the quarter in return. She gladly thanks him and drives off.

As we walked about grabbin' a bit of this and that, it suddenly occurred to me that I didn't see any tell tail sign of her quarter that should be in the coin depository of the cart. Nah ....it must be in there, I just couldn't see it - after all she seemed  like a nice attractively dressed 30s something lady in a BMW.

After packing our groceries into the car, I took the cart over to the area to connect the locking mechanism and engage the coin release which gives you back the quarter.  "NO" quarter - now I think 'why would a seemingly nice attractively dressed 30s something lady in a BMW accept the quarter from hubby when she never put one in'!  I don't know if I'm more shocked at the gull  or just plain p***ed off!  And its not about the darn quarter, its the principal here - certainly shakes my trust factor for sure.

Oh yes ..........  I take back my first observation:  'seemingly nice attractively dressed 30s something lady in a BMW'!!  Don't believe that you want to know what I think now!
